Certificates
As an international trading company the business is certified by strong, well known certifiers; organic certification is carried out by CERES GmbH. Certificate copies are provided with quotations so buyers can verify scope and validity directly with the certifier.
European Union organic rules
The EU framework for organic production and labelling, covering cultivation practice, permitted inputs, processing and the control system, as carried on the company's current documentation.
United States, USDA
The USDA program governing products sold as organic in the US market. NOP compliance is what allows the company's goods to enter the United States labelled organic.
Certification body
CERES, Certification of Environmental Standards GmbH, is the accredited body that inspects the farms and facility and issues the organic certificates.
German association standard
Naturland's additional provisions add stricter requirements on top of EU organic rules, including social responsibility criteria and tighter input rules.
Japan, MAFF
The Japanese organic standard for plant products, required for organic sales into Japan.
Switzerland, the Bud standard
The Swiss private organic standard, with its own requirements on farming practice and imports, recognized by Swiss retail buyers.
Social and trading conditions
Fairtrade certification covers the social and economic conditions of production, from labor terms to trading terms with the farm.
Global food safety, GFSI recognized
Certification of the manufacturing site's food safety and quality management system, covering HACCP, site standards, product and process control.
Dietary certification
Kosher certification of the supplied products; the certificate travels with the quotation document set.
Certificates carry an issue date, an expiry date and a defined product scope, and each certifier keeps a public register or a verification contact. When you receive the document set with a quotation, check the named legal entity, the crop scope and the validity dates against your own destination requirements.
